Falling in Love Again

As with any artistic pursuit, if someone asks you to play piano accompaniment for a song where you have to watch and follow them for all the stops, starts, speed-ups & slow-downs, with feeling, and all that jazz - you don’t mention to them that you haven’t actually done that in years and years!

Well, it all worked out, I recorded the piano as she sang and she’ll use that for a variety show. But whenever someone wants to record an old song I’ve never heard before it never ceases to amaze me just how many songs are out there that I don’t know, but that lotsa other people do. “Falling In Love Again”, as performed by Marlene Dietrich, is a pretty cool tune, very show-tuney, very fun, and apparently very classic - covered by so so many people…

News to me! My mom knew it right away. And now that I know it I’m sure I’ll see it pop up again and again.
